Single-Entry & Continuous Bonds

Customs bonds set up before your first shipment

Every formal entry needs a customs bond. We help you choose between a single-entry bond and a continuous bond, and have it in place before your cargo ships.

What a customs bond does

A customs bond is a guarantee to CBP that duties, taxes, and penalties will be paid and that the importer will follow the rules. It is required for formal entries and for the ISF on ocean freight.

Single-entry or continuous

A single-entry bond covers one shipment and is sized to its value and duty. A continuous bond covers every entry for a year. The minimum continuous bond is $50,000, or 10 percent of the duties, taxes, and fees you paid in the previous year if that is higher.

For a business that imports several times a year, a continuous bond is usually simpler and costs less overall. We look at your shipping plan and recommend the one that fits.

  • Bond type chosen from your import calendar and duty volume
  • Continuous bond applied for and active before the first entry
  • Bond sufficiency checked as tariffs raise your duty totals
  • ISF coverage confirmed on ocean shipments

Built for businesses that import on a schedule

We work with brands, Amazon sellers, e-commerce and online store owners, wholesalers, retailers, and manufacturers that bring in shipments regularly, most often from China. Any product category works, as long as it is physical commercial goods. That is where our door-to-door service pays off: we plan the freight, clear customs, and deliver, shipment after shipment. Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a continuous bond take?

Usually a few days once the application is complete, so we set it up while your first order is still in production.

What happens if my bond becomes insufficient?

When duty totals grow, often because of new tariffs, CBP can require a larger bond. We watch your totals and raise it before it becomes a problem.
