Sourcing to final delivery: how a shipment moves

Six stages take goods from an overseas supplier to your Houston dock: sourcing, supplier pickup, freight, customs brokerage, DDP, and final delivery. Use all of them or just the one you need.

The six stages

Sourcing, supplier pickup, freight, customs brokerage, DDP, and final delivery. Most importing problems happen at a handoff between them: the forwarder books without the paperwork, the broker gets documents the day the vessel lands, and the trucker was never told what is in the container. Running the stages as one chain removes those gaps.

1. Sourcing and supplier pickup

We find and vet suppliers for the product you want, or deal with the supplier you already use. Then we collect the goods from the factory and consolidate orders from several suppliers into one shipment. See sourcing and supplier verification.

2. Freight

Ocean FCL and LCL, air, and express, booked and tracked, with the export documents prepared alongside the booking rather than after it.

3. Customs brokerage

The entry is filed, the goods are classified, duty is calculated and paid, and agency requirements are handled for the importer of record. Customs clearance on its own is welcome, including cargo already at the port.

4. DDP and final delivery

DDP means one all-in delivered price covering freight, duty, taxes, and clearance, so you pay once instead of paying a forwarder, a broker, a duty bill, and a trucker separately. Then the goods are trucked to your warehouse, your store, or Amazon.

DDP Advantage is the bundled version: verified factory sourcing, full customs clearance, and all import duties in one flat, guaranteed rate, with the compliance handled and the cargo delivered straight to your facility.

Start where you need help

You do not have to use every stage. Plenty of importers start with clearance alone and keep their own freight and suppliers. Others hand over the whole chain from the factory floor. Both work, and you can add stages as the relationship develops.

Built for businesses that import on a schedule

We work with businesses that move physical goods: importers and distributors, wholesalers and retailers, Amazon and FBA sellers, e-commerce and private-label brands, furniture and home decor companies, apparel and fashion labels, construction-material suppliers, manufacturers bringing in components or raw materials, and industrial and automotive-parts companies. Any product category works, as long as it is physical commercial goods. That is where our door-to-door service pays off: we plan the freight, clear customs, and deliver, shipment after shipment. See who we work with.

What to include for an accurate quote

The more of this you share, the faster we can price it. Quotes are for businesses with recurring commercial shipments.

  • Origin: supplier or factory city and country
  • Destination: delivery city and ZIP code
  • Product: what it is, and the HS code if you have it
  • Quantity: units and number of cartons or pallets
  • Weight: total gross weight
  • Size: carton dimensions or total volume in CBM
  • Shipping method: ocean FCL, ocean LCL, air, or express
  • How often you ship: monthly, quarterly, or your next few orders

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you just clear customs for me?

Yes. Customs brokerage on its own is welcome, including cargo arriving at the port. Plenty of importers start there, keep their existing freight arrangements, and add more later.

Do I have to use every stage?

No. Start wherever you need help: clearance only, freight and clearance, or the whole chain from the supplier onward.

What is DDP and how is it different?

Delivered Duty Paid means we coordinate the shipment from origin through customs clearance and final delivery, and quote one all-in price covering freight, duty, taxes, and clearance. You pay once and the goods arrive.

What is DDP Advantage?

DDP Advantage is the bundled version of that service: verified factory sourcing, full customs clearance, and all import duties combined into one flat, guaranteed rate. We handle the compliance, clear the cargo, pay the taxes, and deliver to your facility.

We are importing for the first time. Is that a problem?

No. Businesses starting to import from overseas are exactly who this is built for. We set up the importer of record, the bond, and the classification before the first shipment moves.

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

Businesses that handle physical goods: importers and distributors, wholesalers and retailers, Amazon and FBA sellers, e-commerce and private-label brands, furniture and home decor, apparel, construction materials, manufacturers importing components, and industrial and automotive parts.

Can one company really do all of it?

Freight and customs are separate roles, but they do not have to be separate companies. We run both, so the entry is prepared while the freight is still being planned rather than after the vessel lands.
