Why shipments get examined
CBP selects cargo for exams through risk targeting and at random. An exam can be a quick X-ray scan, a tailgate look at the container, or an intensive exam where the container is moved to an exam station and unloaded. Partner agencies such as the FDA can also hold goods for review.
How we handle it
An exam costs time and money: exam fees, drayage to the exam site, and storage. Clean documents are the best way to reduce the chance of one and to shorten it when it happens.
- Invoice, packing list, and classification checked before the goods ship
- Fast answers to CBP and agency questions
- Drayage to and from the exam station arranged by our team
- Clear reporting on status and costs until release
Important
We manage exams and holds as part of the shipments we run for recurring clients. We can also clear cargo already at the port, provided the documents are available.
Built for businesses that import on a schedule
We work with brands, Amazon sellers, e-commerce and online store owners, wholesalers, retailers, and manufacturers that bring in shipments regularly, most often from China. Any product category works, as long as it is physical commercial goods. That is where our door-to-door service pays off: we plan the freight, clear customs, and deliver, shipment after shipment. What to include for an accurate quote
The more of this you share, the faster we can price it. Quotes are for businesses with recurring commercial shipments.
- Origin: supplier or factory city and country
- Destination: delivery city and ZIP code
- Product: what it is, and the HS code if you have it
- Quantity: units and number of cartons or pallets
- Weight: total gross weight
- Size: carton dimensions or total volume in CBM
- Shipping method: ocean FCL, ocean LCL, air, or express
- How often you ship: monthly, quarterly, or your next few orders
